Four gardens in one, St Albans
_

The brief for this long and narrow garden was to create a family friendly space that looked effortlessly stylish whilst enticing young children to play outside, catering for a love of entertaining as well as a need to retreat sometimes and find a haven of tranquillity.

The design solution was to create four clearly defined spaces. The south-facing rear of the house opens out onto a generous dining area with porcelain paving and a pergola to provide shade. Rectilinear lawns are softened with naturalistic planting, a gravel path & wildflowers. A children’s play area with a large basketball court has been tucked in under the trees . At the end of the garden is woodland housing a new lodge.
